The purpose of CTCC is to unite into one organization all the civic and charitable activities working for the welfare and improvement of Cranberry Township.

In 1975, the Cranberry Township Rotary decided its main project for the year would be to start a Community Chest to assist the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, J.C., Women’s Club, Fire Company, and Ambulance Corps in soliciting funds. The Community Chest’s first slogan was “Watch the Tree Grow” and a tree-shaped campaign sign was planted at Route 19 and Criders Corner, where Burger King now stands.
