Living a life worth remembering is a goal that connects us all. Now, thanks to a meaningful new addition at the UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park, the stories of those who have shaped Cranberry Township's past - and inspired its future - are being preserved for generations to come.
The Cranberry Township Community Chest (CTCC) Legacy Trail is more than a scenic path. It's a tribute to individuals and families whose contributions laid the foundation for the community we know and love today. Along the trail, three Legacy Endowment Benches serve as lasting memorials to the Graham Family, Denton Powell, and Dan Storrs—people who not only lived well but also gave generously.
"Each of these benches is more than a place to rest - they are symbols of generosity and the belief that investing in the future is a gift that never stops giving," said Bruce Mazzoni, CTCC Vice President and Cranberry Township Board Supervisor.
Honoring the First Legacy Trail Inductees:
The Graham Family

The Graham family operated the Graham Farm for generations as longtime stewards of the land. Dee and Gene Graham played a key role in transforming that farmland into what is now Graham Park—one of the most beautiful parks in Pennsylvania. Their vision helped preserve green space and provided a cornerstone for community recreation.
Dan Storrs

A Cranberry Township resident since 1995, Dan Storrs championed the Boy Scouts of America in Southern Butler County. In 2009, he helped establish the Scout Monument at Graham Park, a place of pride for local scouts. This endowment also honors his late wife, Cheryl, who passed away in 2019 - a tribute to their shared commitment to community service.
Denton Powell

A dedicated farmer and lifelong resident, Denton Powell dreamed of preserving his land for agricultural use. After passing in 2021, his close friend Andy Hack worked with the Township to fulfill that dream. In 2023, the Powell Farm was officially transferred to the Township, securing its future and honoring both men's enduring dedication.
The Legacy Trail is now open to the public—a place to walk, reflect, and draw inspiration from those who came before. Through the Legacy Endowment Program, CTCC is proud to ensure that people who helped build Cranberry Township are never forgotten.
