A Grand Opening for a Grand Space: Celebrating the Armstrong Great Lawn

It was a day full of pride, partnership, and community spirit as CTCC officially unveiled its 2024 Project of the Year—the Armstrong Great Lawn—on Friday, May 16, during Celebrate Cranberry festivities. As the newest jewel in the crown of Cranberry Township's vibrant public spaces, the Armstrong Great Lawn is more than just a green space; it symbolizes what collaboration can accomplish.

The grand opening, held under sunny skies, drew a large and enthusiastic crowd eager to see the transformation firsthand. The Armstrong Great Lawn, located in front of the Municipal Center, was designed as a central gathering space perfect for community events, casual meetups, or simply enjoying the outdoors.

The grand opening marked more than just the lawn opening - it celebrated the many partnerships that brought this vision to life. Speakers included Township Manager Dan Santoro, representatives from Experience Butler County, Keystone Ridge Designs, Fun Fore All, Herbet, Rowland & Grubic, Inc. (HRG), Armstrong, and the Cranberry Township Community Chest. Each shared their unique role in the project and highlighted the power of collaboration in shaping the future of the Township.

A special moment during the ceremony was the unveiling of the Donor Wall - a lasting tribute to the many contributors who made the project possible. The wall stands as a testament to community generosity and the shared belief in creating spaces that bring people together.

Adding to the excitement of the special day, State Representative Stephanie Scialabba issued a citation recognizing the significance of the day and commending the efforts of all involved.

The event was part of the broader Celebrate Cranberry and Local Government Day activities, allowing attendees to explore other parts of the newly renovated Municipal Center and interact with Township departments.

As the 2024 CTCC Project of the Year, the Armstrong Great Lawn embodies CTCC's mission to foster a strong, vibrant, and connected community. We thank all our partners, donors, and residents who helped make this vision a reality!
